About Plugins
for RedTitan EscapeE

Plugins are add-on applications for the RedTitan 
EscapeE conversion resources system. For example, barcode plugin adds a bar code to the document.
Plugins work by being attached to a "field". To create a field, open the document in EscapeE and sweep out an area of the page then select New field... from the pop-up menu: see Defining fields and tags. If the area contains textual data this is automatically recovered by EscapeE as the "field value" which the plugin will process. If the area is empty, the plugin introduces a new feature to the document. See To attach a plugin.
These plugin are included in EscapeE as standard:
MoveText plugin enables you to move existing text to a new position on the page and/or change its color, with or without conditions. May also be configured to move non-text fields. |
AddText plugin enables you to add new text in any font, color and/or orthogonal orientation. May also be used to remove existing text. |
AddText plugin enables you to add an image (BMP, TIFF, RIF or PCX) to a document. Dynamic images may be selected using names (or parts of names) extracted from the data. |
BarCode plugin enables you to convert text into any of the common barcode formats, including 2-D types. |
BC39Reader plugin extracts text from a Code 3 of 9 barcode image so that its data may be used elsewhere. |
QRCodeReader plugin extracts text from a QR Code 2D image (typically an internet address) for use elsewhere. |
Evaluate plugin allows RS/2-based programs or expressions to be used to calculate a field value or re-draw the page depending on field contents. |
Script plugin embeds configuration string expressions (in the style of JAVASCRIPT® and VBscript®) in your document to make interactive web-pages. |

BlankOut plugin covers field area(s) on the page with black or white rectangles. You may also opt to remove the text underlying the area. |
Tesseract plugin converts images of characters into true text using tesseract ocr routine. It supersedes OCR Plugin. |
OCRust is for optical character recognition of dot matrix printer text. |
Rocr is the most flexible ocr plugin; it converts glyphs into text with the aid of tesseract, evaluate and a User-created database of character maps. |
